FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR THE FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM
WHERE DO I REMIT MY PAYMENT?
Payment can be remitted to the elementary or high school offices, or directly to the cafeteria. Checks remitted may not be cashed. Payments received will be credited to your child’s account no later than the next school day.

I HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD ATTENDING SCHOOL. WILL EACH CHILD HAVE A SEPARATE ACCOUNT?
Yes, please indicate on the memo area of your check how much you would like credited to each child’s account along with their account (PIN) number. A separate check is not needed for each family member. If your child has a different last name, please note this also. If pre-paying with cash, please include the same information as above on an envelope. If prepaying via credit card on line, you will be able to indicate the amount to credit to each child's account when you set up your payment. Beginning September 1, 2019, a 3% convenience fee will be charged for credit card transactions.

CAN I PRE-PAY SMART SNACKS?
Yes, in fact, pre-payment is preferable to paying cash in the lunch line. Both regular hot lunch and Smart Snacks can be prepaid using this system. You can prepay as much or as little as you like. Pre-payments result in faster and shorter lunch lines.

HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF THE BALANCE IN MY ACCOUNT IS TOO LOW?
Students will be verbally notified when they go through the line when their balance is low. You can check account balances any time by logging in to Parent Portal. Occasional emails will be sent by the office for past due accounts.

WHAT GRADES WILL HAVE ACCESS TO SMART SNACKS?
Grades nine through twelve have daily access to Smart Snacks.

WHAT IS SMART SNACKS?
Smart Snacks consists of individual healthy snack items, following the nutritional guidelines of the "Smart Snacks in Schools" rule, which has limits for calories, fat, sugars and sodium. Other food items are allowed to be sold on the line, if they were offered the same day, or the day before, on the main lunch or breakfast line.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MONEY LEFT AT THE END OF YEAR?
Your child’s account balance will roll forward to the next school year. If your child graduates or transfers, a refund is available upon request.
