ATTENTION FALL SPORT ATHLETES

The following are athletic activities that are available for student athletes in the 2026 Season. If you have any questions, please contact the coach or the Activities Director, Chad Stoskopf, at 879-1909 or via email cstoskopf@esko.k12.mn.us 


Boys & Girls Cross Country (Varsity, Junior Varsity & C Team)

The first day of practice is Monday, August 17, 2026. We will meet in Ms. Kye's new room, formerly Beaudot’s room (enter through the High School Clock Lobby doors) before heading out.  

Please arrive dressed and ready to run by 7:00 a.m. and bring:

Running shoes

Weather-appropriate running clothes

A water bottle

Practices will be held Monday through Friday from 7:00–8:30 a.m. until the start of the school year.

Before the first practice, please ensure you are registered through the Esko Athletics website and have a current sports physical on file.

Football:

Varisty football starts August 17th.  Practices will go from 12-3.

Parent meeting will be August 24th at 6pm.

Junior high football will start August 17th as well.  Junior high practice will be behind the school on Memorial field.  It will go from 10am-12.

Players should have cleats and a mouth guard to begin the season.

Volleyball

Start date is  August 17th 9am - 11am in the blue gym and it’s the same all week except Friday will only be 9am - 11am. 7th and 8th grade will be starting Aug 24th 3:30 - 5pm in the blue gym. Sometimes may change because of the gym floor getting redone. I would like to do a parents meeting on the Thursday before practices start, but I'm not sure when the coaches meeting will be.  TBD

Girls Soccer:

Tryouts:  August 17th and 18th from 6 PM to 9 PM,  and August 19th from 8 AM to 10 AM

Location:  Esko Stadium

Eligibility: Esko students entering grades 7th through 12th.  All students must have completed fall sport registration, and have a current sports physical on file.

New player parent meeting:  August 17 at 5:00 PM at Turf field house

This meeting will cover Esko Athletic Department information, introduction to coaching staff, Soccer program specific information and answer questions related to tryouts.

C-E-C Boys Soccer

Complete participant information & upload current MSHSL sports physical. If you do not have a copy of your current sports physical and have previously submitted a physical to the district, please contact ajones@isd94.org. Allow 5 days for a response during summer hours until August 5th.

FEE PAYMENTS:

Fees payments must be made after tryouts are complete and rosters are set. Payments can be made in the following ways:

Online via Stripe (link available on Arbiter website)

In person at the CHS Activities Office (cash or check payable to ISD #94)

Cloquet School District students/families who qualify for free/reduced lunch MUST submit paperwork through food service and receive approval before this discount can be applied. NOTE: If your family qualified for free/reduced lunch last year, you will still need to reapply for 26-27 at https://www.isd94.org/page/application-for-educational-benefits


C-E-C Girls Swim:

Captain’s practice will be August 3-7 and August 10-14 from 8:00-10:00 AM at Pinehurst Park. Wear workout clothes, bring a water bottle and towel. If you are joining the swim team, team suits will be selected soon. Please watch the Facebook group mentioned below for additional information.

First day of practice will be Monday, August 17 from 4:00-6:30 PM at the CMS Pool.  Bring a one-piece swimsuit, goggles & swim cap.  Swim team is open to all 7-12 grade girls from Cloquet and Esko. C-E-C Girls Tennis:    

Captains Practice: August 10th-14th from 8:30-10:30 AM @ Cloquet HS tennis courts

Informational Meeting for parents and players: August 12th from 5:30-6:00 PM @ HS tennis courts

Regular season practice: Starts August 17th from 3:45-5:45 @ Cloquet HS tennis courts

Gear needed: Tennis racket, tennis shoes, athletic clothes for practice, black shorts or black skirt to go with uniform tank top that will be ordered the first week of practice, and a water bottle.

Families who qualify for financial assistance (FDL Tribal Center Sports & Activity Assistance Program or JOM) must contact the agencies themselves to process paperwork. This can take several weeks, please take necessary steps to ensure payment is received before the first game/scrimmage)

NOTE: Fees for activities MUST be paid prior to the first game/scrimmage to be eligible to participate.

  2.  Current Sports Physical signed by Physician (good for 3 years).  If unsure contact Tanya Pagelkopf at tpagelkopf@esko.k12.mn.us and she can let you know if your child is in need of a current physical.
