Brian Wickenheiser Hired as High School Principal

<p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/215ac44a-4265-411e-9d56-d93ca3432995?fingerprint=ppb20260630184954" alt="wickwebfinal" width="282" height="183" style="width:282px;height:183px;display:inline-block;float:left"><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Brian Wickenheiser joins Esko Public Schools as High School Principal. He and his wife Christine have resided in the Esko School District for the past 18 years, and their two children graduated from Esko. Brian began his teaching career in Roseville, Minnesota, before joining Esko ISD 99, where he dedicated 20 years to classroom instruction and leadership duties. Recently, he served as Director of Curriculum and Learning at Proctor Public Schools, leading district-wide instructional initiatives, providing instructing coaching across all building levels, and served as acting principal in all buildings. A graduate of Pelican Rapids High School, Brian holds a BS in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead, a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and his K–12 Principal Licensure from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He looks forward to partnering with the students, staff, and the community of Esko in continuing the school's strong tradition of excellence.</span></p></p>

Class of 2026 Celebarates Final Walk through school halls

<p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/0d8ed44d-55c9-4857-9af8-cb735204fc44?fingerprint=ppb20260630185302" alt="2026 walk" width="254" height="161" style="width:254px;height:161px;display:inline-block;float:left"><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The Senior Class of 2026 took a final walk through the halls of their elementary and high school, celebrating the memories and milestones that shaped their journey.  Wearing caps and gowns, seniors were greeted with smiles, cheers, and applause from younger students and former teachers.</span><br><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Staff describe the event as a meaningful tradition that inspires younger students while giving seniors a chance to look back on their accomplishments.</span><br><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Commencement will take place at 7pm on Friday, May 29th in the Varsity Gym.</span></p></p>

Kindergarten Round Up 2026

<p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/f63efa59-6fa3-4e74-bc47-bbb3925e0f25?fingerprint=ppb20260423171358" alt="round up 2026" width="310" height="213" style="width:310px;height:213px;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We invite parents of children eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year to the Kindergarten Parent Information Meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 5:30–6:30 PM in the school theater. This meeting is designed to provide important information about the transition from preschool to kindergarten. It’s a great opportunity to learn what to expect, how to support your child, and to connect with other parents.  </span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Registration is not required. Please enter through the high school entrance, and staff will direct you to the theater. We kindly ask that children stay home for this event, as the meeting is intended for parents and guardians only.</span></p>

Jerry Frederick Named 2026 Alll-State School Board Member

<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Jerry Frederick Named 2026 All-State School Board Member</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/3cbfce40-48e2-4fe1-a337-2bdbb5f637b9?fingerprint=ppb20260423171358" alt="Jerry Frederick 2026 All State School Board" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Esko Board Chair, Jerry Frederick, has been selected by the Minnesota School Board Association as a 2026 All-State School Board Member.  Jerry was one of only seven chosen from nearly 2,400 Minnesota School board members statewide. Since 1971, this honor has recognized school board members who represent the "best of the best in public education."  All-State honorees are chosen for their leadership, service to students, and unwavering commitment to the success of their local schools.  </span><br><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Congratulations to Jerry Frederick on this well-deserved state-wide honor and thank you for your dedication to the Esko School District!</span></p>

A Message From Our Superintendent

Welcome to Esko Public Schools. As a 31 year employee of our school district and 20 year community resident, I know just how much there is to be proud of in Esko. I also know how much effort and teamwork it has taken to build and sustain our successes. As I transition into my new role as Superintendent of Schools, I look forward to our next steps as a school district. Whether you have a generations-old road named after your family or you’re newly relocated or returned to Esko, you know that Esko Public Schools is at the core of our community. That said, Esko Public Schools relies on supportive community and collaboration in delivering on our promise to serve the young people and families who call Esko home. What I have heard from so many of you as I have made the shift from principal to superintendent is the collective desire to retain the fundamental aspects of school culture and climate that has propelled forward Esko students for the past 100 years, while still growing and adapting in a manner that prepares students for post-secondary education, work, citizenship and life in the 21st Century. Look to this reserved space, on our redesigned website, where I will provide updates regarding our current plans and future vision for serving Esko students, and how you, the stakeholders, can help shape Esko Public Schools going forward. Additionally, in a effort to maximize transparency, look for updates on projects, processes and input opportunities in this space.
