Track Info

Track Information

1. Academics: You are responsible for your school work. We have several early dismissals for track meets. This is especially hard on your afternoon classes. You must learn to organize and plan ahead. You cannot use the “but I wasn’t here” excuse.

2. Physicals: You must have had a physical during the past 3 years and a copy must be on file with the Athletic Director. Check with your coach if you’re not sure.

3. Sports fees must be paid before participating in a meet.

4. Shoes: Running shoes can be purchased – usually with a 20% discount -from Austin Jarrow or The Athletes Foot. You don’t need anything fancy, just a basic training shoe.

5. Practice: We believe our teams will be very strong this year. In order to do well, we need you at practice – with a coach. We have an agreement with Cloquet allowing us to use their track at certain times – with a coach. This should especially benefit our long and triple jumpers, hurdlers and relays. If you have to miss a practice, check out the Work Out section and get something done at home.

6. Clothes: Always have warm clothes for going outside. Sweats, hats and gloves are a must. You can always take a layer off if you get too warm. You should be sweating by the time you complete the warm up drills.

7. Information: Each day we need to meet with everyone in the gym at 3:25 PM to go over team info and announcements etc.

8. Goals: Set some personal and team goals for the season. We have a great schedule and it should be an enjoyable season.
