Administrative Assistant to the Elementary Principal

Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or general education degree, one year previous office experience or post-secondary degree preferred.  Must have advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and Google applications including Docs and Calendar.  Exemplary customer service skills are required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serves as confidential secretary to the Elementary School Principal
  • Maintains daily and weekly bulletins
  • Prepares letters, forms, reports and mailings as needed
  • Arranges for substitutes for teachers and paraprofessionals as needed
  • Prepares information for student disciplinary referrals under the supervision of the principal
  • Maintains student records related to enrollment, state MARSS reporting, attendance, discipline, report cards, and transcripts within the student information system software (Infinite Campus)
  • Manages incoming and outgoing mail for the elementary school
  • Prepares for beginning/end of school year
  • Answers and directs phone calls
  • Greets and manages visitors to the school during the instructional day
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are usual and customary for persons in this job classification.

Early Childhood Parent Educator

Early Childhood Parent Educator

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned

  • Fulfill mission, goals and philosophies of ECFE/School Readiness programs
  • Responsible for team curriculum development input with other parent and child educators. 
  • Set up a learning environment for parents and assist with the classroom set-up for the children.  Prepare and implement parent curriculum.  Gear the program to meet the needs of the parents in accordance with the overall program policies and philosophies.
  • Keep coordinator updated on interesting/valuable program item/ideas to expand existing classroom materials or lending library resources.
  • Responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom/parent education area.  Help Child Educator and families understand the routine for children to follow.
  • Take time to personally know each parent and child.  Be sensitive to the separation process and follow program philosophy on separating.  Meet individually with parents as needed.  Be aware and alert to each child’s safety and parent’s comfort level.
  • Serve as a model for parents when working with young children and share with parents child development ideas verbally of through handouts.
  • Make referrals, as necessary, to program coordinator for special assistance or community resource information.
  • Assist in outreach and public relations activities as needed.
  • Responsible for attending and working at designated family events, community events and fundraisers.
